Emergency Procedures
The order of emergency service is not determined by the time of arrival at the hospital but the severity and emergency of disease condition. In other words, patients in urgent need of medical attention will be treated first. After all, life cannot wait.
Triage is the process of senior nurses at the emergency triage station determining the priority of patients' treatments based on the severity of their condition as per the “Triage Table” in consideration of the patients’ chief complaint, disease history, disease severity and urgency. It aims to maximize the effect of limited emergency medical resources, so that patients can receive the most appropriate medical services in the shortest time.
Emergency Registration
In case the patient is in critical condition, the triage nurse will directly send the patient to the emergency room for treatment and the family will be requested to register at the emergency counter. The order of diagnosis and treatment is determined by the severity of the patient’s condition (i.e., triage), not by the time of registration.
If you forget to bring your NHI IC Card, please pay for the full expenses. Afterwards, bring the original receipt, your NHI IC Card, ID card or other relevant certificates in 7 days to apply for a refund at the original cashier counter.
Emergency Hospitalization
If the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital due to the disease condition, the physician will issue an admission notice for family to apply for hospitalization at the emergency counter. The emergency medical expenses should be paid after all procedures have been completed. After the emergency nurse has contact the ward nurse, the patient will then be escorted to the ward.
Certificate of Medical Diagnosis
If requiring a medical certificate, please apply with the physician directly at diagnosis to acquire the certificate upon discharge from the hospital.
Please bring the identification of the patient (those applying on behalf of the patient are required to present supporting documents and letter of authorization) for the diagnosis physician to verify before issuing the certificate of diagnosis, followed by affixing seals and making payment at the emergency counter.
To apply for a death diagnosis certificate, the physician will determine the issuing responsibility depending on the cause of death and time before processing at the emergency counter.
