Introduction
Over the past 30 years, pediatrics has been the focus in the Hospital's development. In addition to constantly expanding the pediatric wards and upgrading medical equipment, it has actively cultivated excellent pediatric talents and strived for teaching and research excellence. In the ongoing pursuit of development and advances, subspecialties develop quickly, and medical teams are becoming strong and have attained international medical standards.
On October 1, 2003, the Hospital formally established the Preparatory Office for Children's Hospital, and brought in professor Che-nan Lin, deputy superintendent and director of pediatric surgery of Chang Gung Children's Hospital as Preparatory Office director. Meanwhile, the Hospital was also working hard to build a children's hospital.
The Children's Hospital was officially opened on April 3, 2004, with Che-nan Lin as the first superintendent. In September 2007, in order to comply with regulations and related facilities restrictions, we renamed the "Children's Hospital" as the "Children's Medical Center" and appointed professor Ching-yuen Lin as superintendent.
In August 2009, Ching-tien Peng took over as superintendent. Starting from October 1, 2014, in line with the policy by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Executive Yuan, the establishment was officially registered and inaugurated with the name of "China Medical University Children's Hospital," and then passed the evaluation as "children's hospital at medical center level" on October 31.
In July 2017, Yun-ching Fu took over as superintendent.
With the efforts of successive superintendents, hospital business has developed smoothly. With the mission of improving the level of pediatric medicine, all of hospital staff have successively passed the new hospital accreditation and the baby-friendly hospital certification, become the responsible hospital in the emergency medical network for the perinatal period, and continued to serve as the medical training center for premature infants. The Children's Hospital has made continuous improvements in medical services, teaching and research.
The Children's Hospital aims to become a medical institution at international level. With high quality, friendly and humanized medical care, we have created a desirable children's hospital with excellent services and patient-centered care.
The Children's Hospital also continue to focus on cultivating pediatricians and teams with caring personality traits, broad visions, and humanistic literacy.
In the future, the Children's Hospital will devote more efforts to the medical research and education on severe and rare diseases in children.
