The center under the Department of Pediatric Neurology in the medical center has the largest volume of business and receives the largest number of referrals from hospitals in central Taiwan. In combination with the department of genetic medicine of the Hospital, the liquid chromatograph tandem mass spectrometer developed by the department of genetic medicine has marked a new era for the diagnosis of neurometabolic disorders. Interdisciplinary neurodisease-related programs for children, including febrile seizure, Tourette syndrome, and primary epilepsy, have been published in a number of international journals, and combined with clinical diagnosis and treatment to serve patients. The center communicates with well-known foreign experts, assigns young doctors to study in foreign hospitals, and plans to apply to the National Science Council for the overseas researchers visit program to invite Stanford University's authorities on pediatric neuromuscular diseases for long-term guidance to promote the level of academic research. The center offers interdisciplinary integrated outpatient service and medical team in the form of joint outpatient clinics, including the divisions of pediatric psychiatry, pediatric neurology, pediatric respiratory therapy, pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric orthopedics, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, language therapists, and social workers. Patient-centered, it runs services for children with neuromuscular disorders and has established the Center for Asian Children's Neurological and Mental Development.
