兒童神經外科

Before the establishment of an independent division of pediatric neurosurgery in Children's Hospital, the Hospital's medical and teaching services concerning neurosurgery were supported and helped by China Medical University Hospital’s Division of Neurosurgery. The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery focuses on surgery on the brain and spine in patients under 18 years of age. In addition to introducing endoscopic third ventriculostomy in the treatment of hydrocephalus, we run the highest quality of medical services for pediatric brain tumors, various congenital brain malformations, hydrocephalus, craniofacial malformations, brain surgery for premature infants, and various kinds of endoscopic brain surgery. In 2008, the Hospital's children's medical center began operation, with the quality of surgical care in pediatric neurosurgery raised to international level. The range of neurosurgical diseases in our children also covers congenital diseases of the central nervous system (e.g., encephalocele, spina bifida, and craniofacial malformations), cerebrovascular diseases (e.g. arteriovenous malformations), epilepsy surgery, and cerebral palsy surgery (e.g. selective dorsal rhizotomy).
