Early Intervention Center
The Hospital’s Neonatology Division is one of the five preterm infant medical training centers in the nation. Our medical performance takes the lead in the nation: the survival rate is 98% for birth weight <1,500 grams, 83% for <1,000 grams, and 63% for 500 to 750 grams, all of which are beyond international medical standards. We have also attained a number of outstanding achievements, such as: in 1997, a newborn was alive and well at 23 weeks and 530 grams; in 1999, premature quadruplet infants survived perfectly; in 2010, the nation's smallest premature newborn was alive and well at 24 weeks and 420 grams. The neonatal medical team was awarded the National Biotechnology Medical Quality Award twice in 2005 and 2010.
