In 2011, the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, in collaboration with the Department of Laboratory Medicine of the Hospital, combined the results of years of research on mutant hemoglobin with innovative molecular testing principles and special techniques to help the country promote health policies, with forward-looking preventive effects, on the theme of "The Guardian Team of Mediterranean Anemia and Hemoglobin Gene Mutation." The center was awarded the 2011 Symbol of National Quality by the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry.
