Blood Stem Cell Transplant Center
The center has actively developed the clinical application and research of stem cells, independently completed the bone marrow stem cell transplantation, and continuously attracted physicians from various countries to request training in the Hospital. The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology has actively developed the clinical application of stem cells, and in 2011, applied umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells to patients with severe graft versus host disease after bone marrow transplant, with remarkable results. In addition, umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells and hematopoietic stem cells were implanted together in patients with aplastic anemia, which found that umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells could accelerate the recovery of hematopoietic function following bone marrow transplantation and benefit the children suffering from hematological tumor successfully.
